Understanding Forwarding Services
Forwarding involves analyzing the specifications and requirements of a particular order, and then arranging the best
means of transport for it, taking into account the client’s priorities and logistical constraints. A freight forwarder negotiates transport terms with various carriers (shipping lines/groupage agents/airline agents/hauliers), selecting the best offer in terms of price, timeliness and safety.
We can also advise on the benefits and pitfalls of what shipping terms (Incoterms) are best when placing an Import
order with the overseas supplier so the overall landed cost of your goods is optimal.

What are Incoterms?
Incoterms® (International Commercial Terms) are a set of 11 global rules first published by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in 1936, that set out to define who (seller vs buyer) is responsible for what (packing, documentation & logistics) from origin (suppliers collection point) to destination (buyer’s delivery point) during international transactions. The latest set of rules was updated in 2020.
Why are Incoterms important?
Because they are known and accepted worldwide. They are a requirement which must be shown on every single international commercial invoice which is processed through Customs, and they greatly reduce the risk of potentially costly misunderstandings.
What do Incoterms cover?
Incoterms clarify all the tasks, risks and costs involved during the international transaction of goods from seller to buyer.
